Kansas City Intimate Portraiture | Miss S Client Interview

Q: How did you first hear of Booker T Boudoir and what made you want to book with us?
A: I follow a lot of photographers on Instagram, and one of them shared an image that Booker had taken. I fell in love with his style instantly! I had done a boudoir shoot in the Winter of 2016, and it was so empowering. I knew that I wanted to do it again, and I decided then that I would save up my money, and do a shoot with Booker.
Q: What was your initial reason for booking?
A: I booked my session as a birthday present for myself, because I wanted to see a capture of how I felt on the inside. My self love journey has been a long one, but I have come so far in the last 4 years. I wanted to document my hard work!
Q: Do you have an "expectation vs reality" story to tell about your shoot?
A: I'm not going to lie, I was seriously terrified before arriving at the studio. What if I didn't fit into any of the items I had brought with me? What if I didn't fit into the items in Booker's client closet? What if Booker decided that he just couldn't' help me and we cancelled the shoot!? All of these crazy things kept popping into my head. All of those ridiculous lies vanished when I walked into Booker's studio.
Q: What was it like seeing your images for the first time?
A: Seeing the raw images for the first time was honestly really hard for me. My eyes went straight to my flaws, and then those lies popped into my head again. I started to pick apart everything that I thought, or had been told, was wrong with my body. I tried very hard to be objective and choose the images that I thought looked good or that spoke to me. I narrowed down my choices pretty quickly and then went home and took a nap!

When Booker sent over the final, edited images, I could hardly contain my excitement!! I was seeing the same sort of photos that I had been drooling over on Instagram, except they were of ME! I love every single image and I wish I had budgeted for more!
Q: Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
A: Boudoir used to be so taboo! Feeling sexy and showing it off was frowned upon and you were supposed to hide that from the world. I'm thankful it's much more widely accepted now. Our bodies are beautiful and strong and I love being able to share that!! I'm still on that self love journey, it's evolving every single day. Being able to look back at these images whenever I want to is very liberating!
Q: Would you recommend Booker T Boudoir for the luxury boudoir experience to others?
A: I absolutely recommend that every one treats themselves to a boudoir photo shoot! It's very freeing and thrilling. The wait for the finished product was hard, but oh so very worth it!
Q: What advice would you give to another woman considering the boudoir experience with Booker T Boudoir?
A: If I could give advice to another woman considering booking a photo session, it would be to let go of all of the "shoulds". Don't compare yourself to the models that you see on websites or in magazines. They are PAID to look that way. I promise you that you are just as beautiful as they are, just as desirable, and just as capable of being sexy. Have some fun it!! That will translate well so into your photos, and you'll treasure them for years to come!
Q: Is there anything else you'd like to add to your interview?
A: Nope! :D keep rocking it!
